Hydro-cyclone
Product Description
A hydro cyclone (often referred to by the shortened form cyclone) is a device to classify, separate or sort particles in a liquid suspension based on the ratio of their centripetal force to fluid resistance. This ratio is high for dense (where separation by density is required) and coarse (where separation by size is required) particles, and low for light and fine particles. Hydro cyclones also find application in the separation of liquids of different densities.
A hydro cyclone will normally have a cylindrical section at the top where liquid is being fed tangentially, and a conical base. The angle, and hence length of the conical section, plays a role in determining operating characteristics.
Working Principle
A hydro cyclone has two exits on the axis: the smaller on the bottom (underflow or reject) and larger at the top (overflow or accept). The underflow is generally the denser or thicker fraction, while the overflow is the lighter or more fluid fraction. Centrifugal pump is used to pump the drilling fluids from mud tank into the set of hydro cyclones.
Our de-sander & desilter has flexible options for 1,2 or 3 hydro cyclone de-sander for different capacities and desilter has flexible options for 8 or 10,12,16 hydro cyclone for different capacities. De-sander is installed after shale shaker and degasser but before desilter. De-sander removes those abrasive solids from the drilling mud which cannot be removed by shale shakers.
Advantages
Our hydrocyclones are extensively used for closed circuit grinding and classification system , thickening, desliming, dewatering , tailings filling, damming, recovery processes in ferrous, nonferrous metal and nonmetal mine industries, and is deeply popular with customers due to high classification efficiency, simple structure, large throughput, and small occupied area.
