Functional Safety Assessment of Development and Production Tools
Where development and production tools are used for any safety lifecycle activity,
they shall themselves be subject to a Functional Safety Assessment.
Functional Safety Assessment Reporting
The result of the Functional Safety Assessment shall be available together with any
recommendation coming from this assessment.
FSA reporting shall be clarified for the actual phase. Responsibilities and
Accountabilities for both the content of the report as well as for responses to the
report shall be defined. A standardized FSA report template shall be defined that
include a defined distribution.
Auditing and Revision Procedures
Audits, revisions or inspections aim to check whether required provisions
(procedures) for achievement of functional safety are implemented and are working
properly.
Procedures shall be defined and executed for auditing compliance with the
following requirements:
• Requirements for categories of Safety Audits
• Requirements for frequency of Safety Audits
• Requirements for qualifications of Audit personnel
• Requirements for Audit planning including Audit strategy
• Requirements for recording and reporting
• Requirements for follow-up
