Dead-end Set for OPGW
Dead-end Set be equate with: Dead-end Clamp, Dead-end Grip, Tension Set, Tension Clamp, Terminal Clamp, Terminal Grip
The dead end sets have the main function to fix the optical fiber cables to poles or metallic towers. First it is put a protection rods to protect the optical fiber cable. On this rods is assembled the dead-end grip rods. For OPGW the lay direction of the protection rods is the opposite to the outer layer of the cable, the lay direction of the dead-end is the same to the outer layer of the cable. In the all dielectric self supporting cables ADSS, the lay direction of the protection rods is left hand lay and the lay direction of the dead end is right hand lay. The area of the loop of the dead end must be protect with a suitable thimble.
Ocean-Runpower has created a denomination that together with the diameter, span length and color code will allow us to recognize the fitting. The denomination of Ocean-Runpower for the dead-end set is the following: ANL for ADSS, ONL for OPGW, with two letters meaning the raw material, which they are made from, AW=aluminum clad steel, AC=galvanized steel, following with the numbers that they show the diameter of optical fiber cable, and with the numbers that they show the span length or breaking strength, for ADSS is span length, for OPGW meaning breaking strength.
