Effect: We offer 3 different base metals for printed pins; either brass, stainless steel, or aluminum. Brass is the best and is the only choice if you want your lapel pin plated in bright gold or silver. Stainless steel is a durable choice but can not be plated in gold. Finally aluminum is the most cost effective and lightest base metal but it can not be plated and has a brushed silver look.

How are Printed Pins made?
Once your artwork is approved a printing plate or silk screen is made for each color in your lapel pin design. Printing plates are used for offset printed lapel pin designs and silk screens are used for silk screened lapel pins.
The colors are than directly applied to a large sheet of brass, stainless steel, or aluminum (depending on the selection of your choice) using the printing plates or silk screens mentioned above The large sheets of metal are than baked in an oven at 156 degrees to cure the inks.
After cooling the sheets are trimmed to reveal the outside shape of your lapel pin. Each pin is then coated in a non-yellowing epoxy varnish to protect the finish.
Finally, the attachment of your choice is applied and your pin is inspected for quality and packaged for shipping.
