PLANT CHARACTER
- Perennial, creeping, and aggressive climber legume.
- It spreads fast, thick stems and pseudo tap roots 2-3m depth.
- Branches from each node.
- Adventitious roots do not form easily from the nodes touching the ground.
USES:
-Smothers weeds, nitrogen fixer, controls erosion, maintain soil moisture and temperature, as well as improves soil texture.
GROWTH HABIT
-Shade tolerant, slow growth in the first 8-10 months. Thereafter, grows profusely.
Cultivation techniques:
- Germination/ sprouting and raise seedling management must be careful.
- Difference area with difference plant season, according to the local climate.
- Less nitrogen fertilizer, multi-applied potassium fertilization and calcium fertilizers, or affect the quality of the fruits.
