Fiberglass Fabric
We use one or multiple threads 5.6tex ~136tex fiberglass yarn, twist them to 28/45/100 or 150 twists, and then weave with machine to get fiberglass fabric. It has various codes in different countries. Below are some of our conclusions of this product after many years’ export business.
1.In grammage and yarn density, it is consistent in all countries. (In China when we say yarn density, we say how many threads per cm; while in foreign countries, it is how many threads per inch). Divide grammage with yarn density, people will know the yarn tex used.
2.Weave ways are the same. We have plain, twill, broken twill, satin, zigzag and check design.
3.Plain fiberglass cloth is very widely used type, of which garmmage ranges from 17g/m2 to 5000g/m2. According to application, we call light weight cloth (17g/m2 to 100g/m2) electrical insulation cloth, mica fabric, base cloth for fishing rod or CCL. Attached are related pictures for your reference. In the attached table sheet you will find common items of fiberglass fabric. Normally, we call 100g/m2 cloth 2116, and 200g/m2 cloth 7628. We’ve ever weaved cloth with SUS304 to get 950g/m2 and 1050g/m2 product, of which tensile strength above 3300N. We also put brass wire in warp and weft yarn to make 270g/m2 cloth, which is used to make graphite epoxy FRP sheet.
4.Grammage for twill or broken twill fiberglass cloth ranges from 160 to 600g/m2, and satin cloth ranges from 310 to 1750g/m2.
Remarks:
1.Due to machine width, normal fabric roll width cannot be more than 2.6m. If customer want very big roll, we need to roll outside the machine, which we can do it.
2.To produce satin fiberglass cloth, we need weave machine which has tap and harness frame. And its production period should be longer.
At last, with different yarn density and yarn tex, cloth grammage is different. For same grammage, we have different yarn density. For example, for 100g/m2 cloth, we have 16x13/cm, 12x8/cm and 9x8/cm. We have to make it clear before production. More than that, there are different impregnating compounds, such as paraffin, silane, epoxy and starch. If you need dewaxing or pretreatment, pls. tell us before hand. We are expert in this field and we always have about one million square meters stock.
