Appearance appearance Colorless monoclinic crystal. Melting point 214-215℃ (anhydrous matter), relative density 1.494. Slightly soluble in water, chloroform, ether, acetone and benzene, soluble in any proportion to ethanol, almost insoluble in carbon disulfide. Dissolved in 125 parts cold water. Solubility slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether. Melting point 213-217 °C(lit.), boiling point 213.5°C (rough estimate)

Product application
It can be used in food, soy sauce, vinegar, refreshing drinks (except soda), fruit flavoring agents, fruits and vegetables, pickled products, etc., and also widely used in cosmetics. P-hydroxybenzoic acid is also used as an intermediate in dyes. A color developing agent used in the dye industry to synthesize thermal dyes.
