2, 5-hexadione is a light yellow transparent, low volatile liquid. The melting point is -5.5℃, the boiling point is 194℃(100.5kPa), 89℃(3.33kPa), the relative density is 0.9737(20/4℃), and the refractive index is 1.4421. It can be miscible with water, ethanol and ether. It turns yellow over time. Solubility soluble in water, soluble in most organic solvents.
