INTRODUCTION

DENIE-ACID 588-2(L) is an acid protease enzyme designed for use as an enzymatic bating agent. On poorly bated pelts it removes wrinkles and increases area yield. It is also suitable for use in preparations designed for use in acidic stages of leather processing such as pickling, double-face and wet-blue reconditioning.

TEMPERATURE and pH PROFILES

The performance of enzymatic leather processing products depends upon process conditions such as temperature, pH, and time, nature of the substrate and enzyme concentration.

The nature of DENIE-ACID 588-2(L) means that it is effective in the temperature range of 25° - 38°C.

DENIE-ACID 588-2(L) is effective over a wide pH range (3.5 – 6.5) with optimum activity at pH 4.5.

Due to the type of enzyme and its versatility, DENIE-ACID 588-2(L) can be considered suitable as a constituent of products used in other leather processing stages such as the first stage of wet-blue reconditioning.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

DENIE-ACID 588-2(L) is ready to use product for the wet-blue stage, or re-tanning. Testing is recommended to establish the ideal dosage. The product can also be mix with other leather chemicals.

Typical dosage: 0.5%-1.5 %( according hides weight)

The product should be added 60-90min before the end of pickling / depickling; 90-120 mins before the end of tannage during basification; or just before neutralisation.

Variations in hide and local conditions can affect the performance of leather processing chemicals. DENYKEM recommend that small scale tests are carried out under local conditions before using products in full scale production. This will avoid any overdosing and any damage that may result from it. This is especially important where poor quality or badly preserved hides are being processed.
